Home Destinations Heli Elopements
Nearly a decade of quiet love. Since 2016, Eloping Weddings has helped couples leave the noise of the big traditional wedding behind and lift off into wild, sun-drenched beauty — first across New Zealand, and now in Australia. Every elopement is thoughtfully designed, calmly run, and beautifully remembered.

A landscape that doesn't perform, it remembers.

From the air, Australia isn't a backdrop; it's a co-conspirator. Lift off over a turquoise coastline, a string of sand islands or the deep green of the hinterland, and land somewhere most people will only ever see in photographs. The places we fly to carry something the rest of the world has misplaced: space, silence, and a view held just for the two of you.

For couples drawn to a wedding that feels less like an event and more like a moment carved into the landscape itself, a heli elopement is where it begins. A few of our most-loved ceremonies have happened this way: barefoot on a remote sandbar at first light, on a windswept clifftop above the surf, two minutes after the rotors slowed on a hidden hinterland ridge. The decision is never about choosing 'small'. It's about choosing what matters.

Three ways to lift off in Australia.

A landscape designed for love.

Six quiet reasons couples keep choosing to lift off with us: the geography, the weather, the unspoken privilege of standing somewhere very few people ever stand.

01

Locations Few Will Ever See

We fly you to secluded beaches, clifftops and hinterland ridges that simply cannot be reached on foot, so your ceremony is entirely your own.

02

Turquoise Water Reflections

On calm mornings the bays and shallows mirror the sky so completely you can stand at the water's edge and feel like you're walking on a quiet bowl of clouds.

03

Year-Round Flying Weather

Australia's warm climate gives us long, generous seasons: blue-sky winters, golden autumns, balmy summers and bloom-thick springs. Every month has a postcard to offer.

04

Golden Hour Magic

Light lingers here, soft and copper, late into the afternoon, long enough for vows, kisses, and a wander before the flight home.

05

Champagne With a View

After the vows, raise a glass somewhere almost no one else has ever stood, with the whole of the coast or hinterland laid out below you.

06

Cinematic Aerial Photography

A photographer captures the flight, the landing and your vows, turning a fleeting morning into images you will grow old beside.

Planning Timeline

From first hello to lift off.

From the first message in your inbox to the moment the rotors slow and you step out into the view, your day moves through four quiet steps. Every detail is held by us, you only have to arrive.

01
Enquire & dream together

A long, no-pressure conversation about who the two of you are, what you don't want, and the moment you'd quietly choose.

02
Choose your flight and style

We draft a bespoke sketch with your landing site, a celebrant we trust, and a photographer whose work makes you feel something.

03
We handle every detail

Bouquet, licence, witnesses, weather contingencies, the dinner reservation, the surprise. Every thread, carried so you don't have to.

04
Your day unfolds naturally

And the day unfolds the way the best days always do: gently, exactly itself, and over far too quickly.

"We came to Australia thinking we'd booked a wedding. What we got was an entire morning of our lives placed gently in someone else's hands, and a photograph we'll grow old underneath."
